Well-conducted nutrition research is the cornerstone of the healthy foods and supplements market. This category will reward research that takes the nutrition sector to a new level of understanding – with clear potential for the development of market-changing new products.
Nutrition Focus – Is the research nutrition based?
Scientific Merit – Does the research reflect sound science?
Efficacy – Does the research clearly demonstrate a health-related benefit?
Safety – Does the research clearly demonstrate safety in application?
True Innovation – Does the research demonstrate a unique approach, concept or benefit above and beyond leveraging prior art or general knowledge in the field? Is the research based on a concept that is truly new and different, and not simply repurposing or reorienting existing knowledge?
Market Potential – Does the research present a concept that is likely to be commercially successful? Is the target category / application well-defined and of interest in the current (or future) marketplace? Has the distinction between basic and applied science been clearly applied and validated?
Ability to Increase Market Credibility – Does the research demonstrate a concept that has the potential to make a difference to overall industry and / or marketing credibility?
The research must have been concluded after January 1, 2014 in order to be eligible to enter.
The closing date for entries is February 6, 2015.
